Best Vision Board Ever- Made with intention and delight!

Hey lovies! can you believe it’s the first day of April already? Feels like I just took down my Christmas decor the other day. To be honest, some of it is still thrown off to the side in the garage waiting to be neatly placed in the Christmas storage bins. At this point, I’m wondering if I should just leave them there since Christmas seems to be quickly coming around again. Anyway, I figured I would do a vision board check in four times this year and since we are already three months in, I figured April would be perfect for the first one!

2019 Christian Vision Board

write it down, make it plain

In high school, we had a motivational speaker come and talk to our class about the importance of writing down goals and dreams. He asked us to take out a piece of paper and write down a few things that we had hoped to accomplish by the year 2012. I wrote debt free college grad, wife, mother, career in hospitality, homeowner and travel to the motherland. Over the years, as I moved from place to place and country to country, I held on tight to that paper.

on December 31st, 2012, I opened that paper and to my surprise I had pretty much achieved everything that was on there. I had completed college, paid off all college debt, and become a wife. Just three weeks before I became a mother, living abroad in the career I said I always wanted, hospitality. The only goal I had not completed at the time was to be a home owner, travel to the motherland! These goals were only written down, imagine if I had some motivating photos and clippings attached? :)

Journeefullife Vision Board

you can start anytime

Usually there is an abundance of vision boards on my time line in the first few weeks of the year. However, let me just throw this out in the atmosphere. You do not have to wait until the end or the beginning of the year to create your vision board. If you think it, dream it, want it, envision it, then make it happen. Create your vision board and reflect on it everyday.

If you read my Happy New L.I.F.E. year post then you’ll know that I put a lot of thought and intention behind my board, and the vision I had in mind. To be honest, I highly enjoyed creating this, except for my scavenger hunt through magazine after magazine looking for the perfect words, photos etc. Week after week, I would wait for my People mag to come in the mail hoping for the perfect photos and words.

Vision Board Draft

Once your board is complete, be sure keep it somewhere that you can see it everyday. This will help you to hold yourself accountable. I keep mine on a wall close to my bed. When I open my eyes, apart from my kid's elbow in my face, and my Bible, it’s the first thing I look at. When I don’t feel like exercising I would see in big bold letters, LIVE HEALTHY, EAT RIGHT & GET FIT and I’d waddle down to the treadmill. Some nights, I am so tired I just want to sleep and then I see PRAY & Bible. When I see that huge plane I remember that flying and seeing the world is more important to me than that new M.A.C palette. When I’m not at home, there is a picture of my board in my phone so when I start to forget, grow tired or want to give up, BOOM I make it my screensaver.

If this works for me, It can work for you! Do you have a vision board? Does it help to keep you accountable?
